Technology of Painting and Drawing Studio

The classes are based on exercises combined with lectures on used materials and painting techniques. During the classes, I share my knowledge about:

• plant-based binders
• animal-based binders
• tempera binders
• oil binders
• natural resins
• synthetic resins and adhesives

Painting supports – paper, boards, panels, plywood, canvas on stretchers.

Mortars, binders and dyes in the historical aspect.

Pigments used in particular techniques.

Acrylic techniques.

The aim of the classes is to systematise information about the materials used and to pass on theoretical and practical knowledge. The student should prepare professional primers for drawing and painting on his own and get information about the way and means of achieving the expected individual effect. During the classes, pay attention to the changes that occur over time in drawing and painting due to improperly used materials.
