The classes develop skills in painterly thinking and perception of reality. Composition tasks are performed, and decisions made concerning the artistic means appropriate for a given work (photography, installation, sculpture, painting). We shape the students’ ability to formulate individual artistic expression and their ability to respond to a given subject. All topics focus around painterly thinking (colour, light). The tasks carried out in the studio give an opportunity to define one’s own artistic search. The students look for their own way of interpreting a given task. We put emphasis on individual perception and interpretation of the surrounding reality.

Cognitive objectives: (learning outcomes – knowledge). The student will:

• have detailed knowledge in the field of art
• have the ability to place his project in a historical and cultural context (references to art history)
• develop intellectually, moving freely across various fields of art
• consciously create artistic projects with a high degree of originality
• be able to select techniques appropriate for a given task
• learn to interpret the works of other artists (not only visual but also literary)
• have knowledge of the principles of visual perception and image construction

Educational objectives: (learning outcomes – skills). The student will:

• gain basic skills in composition as well as aesthetic quality and artistic value creation
• create his own works of art and artistic concepts
• make independent artistic decisions
• freely use appropriate technology when implementing and expressing his own artistic concepts
• use in practice the acquired technical skills, giving him freedom and independence of artistic expression

Practical objectives: (learning outcomes – social competences). The student will:

• create high quality works
• interpret visual messages
• refer critically to visual reality

The themes oscillate around painting, they teach thinking and painting vision. Students have the opportunity to choose various techniques (painting, photography, collage, installation), as well as to reach for various painting techniques and experimentation.
