For seventy five years now, the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk has been educating young artists who participate in the most important events in the field of culture, art and design in the region, country and abroad. Experienced and award-winning lecturers will reveal to you the wealth of artistic techniques, media and the latest design methods. Spacious and well-equipped studios will allow you to realize your wildest visions. During the plein-airs you will meet new interesting people from other academies and you will have the opportunity to work on unusual projects. You will be able to share all your knowledge and skills with students from other countries during foreign scholarships under Erasmus+  programme.

ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS IN GDAŃSK:

  • The largest public art school in northern Poland with a 75-year tradition.
  • Currently, about 1000 students study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk: Bachelor's and Master's degrees: Interior Design, Photography, Graphics, Graphic Design, Intermedia, Art Criticism, Painting, Sculpture, Art in Public Space, Design, Architecture of Cultural Spaces.
  • The Academy employs over 150 academic teachers who have extensive experience and achievements in the fields of art and design.
  • The Academy is located in the historical center of Gdańsk in historic buildings (Great Armoury, English House, Small Armoury).
  • In December 2015, the Armoury of Arts was opened on the ground floor of the Great Armory, under which the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk presents a cultural offer in the form of exhibitions, workshops, lectures, debates, conferences and special events. The Armoury of Arts project is a development of the cultural activity of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.

Among the most important events organized cyclically, it is worth mentioning:

  • Literary Workshops „Grafikam”
  • National Design Meeting "Young Man and the Sea"
  • Night of the Museums
  • Touch the Theater

The Academy has a wide range of partnerships.  Exchange agreements under the Erasmus program have been signed with almost 100 schools in Europe and Turkey. Outside Europe, the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk conducts exchange  with Ukraine, Georgia, Montenegro, Israel. Locally, the Academy cooperates with most important cultural institutions in the region, consulates and the business community.
