Recruitment 2026

Basics of Drawing and Painting 3 Studio

Head of the studio:

prof. ASP dr hab. Sławomir Lipnicki

The basic criterion of cooperation with the student is the development of the technical as well as the theoretical foundation – so that he can create and implement his own artistic concepts.

The individualised course of work aims to empower the student to take risks in the creative process using his own intuition, imagination and emotionality.

An equally important element of this cooperation is to awaken the awareness of building an image as a message in the context of broadly understood cultural transformations, referring to both old and contemporary art. In order to achieve this, a program is implemented in the studio with a view to:

  • master the basic skills of composing a drawing based on nature
  • develop the ability to observe nature in depth as a condition for reliable drawing construction (proportions, construction, light)
  • develop perception skills
  • analyse mutual relations, different elements (contrasts)
  • develop a creative mind-set
  • select appropriate artistic means to realise one’s own artistic concepts
  • educate in the broadly understood visual culture, analyse the components of works of art from different eras
  • develop analytical thinking
  • develop individual expression and natural aptitudes of students
  • develop executive skills
  • teach the composition of the painting space through practical exercises with colour
  • gain practical knowledge of various drawing and painting tools and techniques
  • learn humility in relation to your work
  • develop artistic intuition
  • learn self-criticism

Teaching methods:

  • practical exercises in drawing and painting
  • individual analyses and corrections
  • identifying and revealing the distinctiveness and origins of one’s own visual language
  • evaluation of artistic awareness and artistic values
