Art Gallery START has been operating since April 2012 as part of the Academy Student Council of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Its main goal is to support the artistic activity of students and popularize outside the walls of the Academy. Through exhibitions and cooperation with art and culture centers, young artists presenting their works on behalf of the Gallery, have the opportunity to present themselves at their first vernissages or present created works and projects.

Gallery members are people sensitive to beauty, with have temperaments and skills to work in the field of art. They form an interdisciplinary team, whose attention is focused on a creative approach to the dissemination of art, in addition to other responsibilities and the course of teaching. Involvement in Art Gallery START gives the opportunity to establish contacts with numerous cultural centers and with people directly related to art, culture, designers – musicians, dancers, as well as those who care about the legal, functional and technical side of exhibitions. In addition, students disseminate their activities on social media, establish cooperation with professionals in the field of marketing.

The gallery tries to care for the quality of the exhibited art – open discussion and constructive criticism mobilizes members to cooperate, broadens their horizons, giving a source of new ideas related to future activities.
