Teaching methods, forms of classes
Classes are conducted in the form of exercises and include a design phase discussed with each student individually. Then a project is carried out in the material, which is the best solution proposed by the student. The programme of the Studio for third-, fourth- and fifth-year students includes both the topics and elements of traditional medal-making and the “authorial” medal as an independent, personal artistic expression and sculptural form, limited as to the scale. The remaining components of the classes are the sphere of unlimited activity allowing for the exploration of individual interests and predispositions of the student. In the projects undertaken, special attention is paid to the acquisition of technical skills. The ninth semester and the preparation of the diploma annex end the cycle of education in this specialisation studio.
Evaluation method
Evaluation is affected by many elements, including the artistic level of all the works provided for in the programme, implementation of previously approved projects in the material, technical skills, active participation in classes. The condition for obtaining credit is participation in the classes and completion of all tasks in accordance with the detailed programme.
