_____

The studio carries out a programme of classes based on the issues from the intersection of sculpture and architecture or, more broadly speaking, the environment – the public space. The topics of the tasks are aimed at assimilating by the student the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of: reading plans and base-maps, observation and analysis in the context of the spatial relations of the existing situation in the field, constructing ideas and formal problems on the basis of the cultural, historical and social context of a given place. In the course of the classes, the student masters technical skills in the field of: building models and mock-ups to scale, implementing a project visualization in the context of the actual situation, and a clear, comprehensive description of both the idea of the project and the technical elements of its implementation.

An important role in the didactic process is played by preparing the student to work with 3D software, creating conditions for acquiring skills in generating models based on 3D printers, milling machines, CNCs and plotters. Digitally controlled devices available in the studio allow to build models from a few centimetres to a few meters in size, giving the opportunity to gain experience in operating a scale. The formula of the open studio allows for the participation of invited guests (recognized artists – educators, architects), which provokes an open exchange of views and shapes attitudes towards important cultural problems.
