The basic task of the Studio of Basics of Sculpture should be to acquire fundamental technical skills in the area of the basics of studio sculpture, to master the ability to express the given idea through sculpture and to introduce the student to active observation and analysis of nature. The study of proportions in our studio is understood as an irreplaceable means to get to know and understand the forms and principles of sculpture.

The aim of the programme carried out in this studio is to familiarise students with the basic issues and problems of the artistic discipline that is sculpture, which will become the basis for building an autonomous artistic stand.

The basic exercise is the study of proportions, which, treated as a didactic tool, gives the opportunity to include in the classical sculptural form the whole complexity of the contemporary sculptural language. Properly understood proportions study and act study will allow the student to become acquainted with the logic of the arrangement of spatial forms. They will also allow the student to express in the language of sculpture his individual, unique attitude to the world and art. At the same time, they should provide a solid foundation and support for the challenges that will emerge during further years of studies in the Sculpture studios.
