Recruitment 2027

Basics of Photography

Head of the studio:
dr Dorota Walentynowicz

_____

The main aim of the classes is to achieve basic technical skills in analogue and studio photography.

The starting point for most of the tasks during the whole year of work is careful observation of light and modifications of the image under its influence. The students work with a clearly defined topic or object, with a clearly determined inspiration in the landscape or surroundings.

The studio character of the basic course provides a solid foundation for the challenges that will arise in the further course of study. It is also characterised by an open space for individual creation.

The darkroom exercises teach how to work independently with chemical reagents. Students learn the technique of developing negatives and prints. They work with digital and analogue cameras of small and medium format.

The Basics of Photography programme is designed to facilitate later work so that technical doubts are solved in the first stage of learning, which allows for unhindered artistic creation in future creative work.
