New Generation
The events and exhibitions organized as part of the project involved—not only experienced artists and theorists—but also a new generation of artists, including students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and from ÉSAD, the Higher School of Art and Design in Orléans, France, who are interested in artistic practice and technology. Despite concerns about the loss of human control, invasive data collection, and other potential negative consequences of technological acceleration, the young artists participating in the exhibitions critically examined how digital technologies, AR and VR algorithms can influence our reality and social relationships. They also explored the subversive use of technology in the context of artistic practices, challenging current techniques of power.
A series of coding workshops was conducted with students from the Studio of Spatial Design and Organization at the Faculty of Sculpture and Intermedia of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk by Dr. Paweł Dudko, focusing on 3D printing and NFTs. The outcome of these workshops was an exhibition held at WL4 Art Space in the Imperial Shipyard.
