Diploma on Silence

Title: Architecture of silence. Subjective experience of the place.

 

In the contemporary world we have lost the ability to be in silence. We have also lost the ability to regain it. The initial state of our mind is chaos. We find it difficult to ground our presence in the present. The modern city does not seem to support us at all on the way to finding silence again. Its form does not seem to ask questions about the human condition, but only about the functional aspect of space.

So what should be the architecture that inspires us to experience silence? How should it enable us to achieve and celebrate it? How can we use it to control our senses and change our state of mind to a more ordered one?
